I'm a junior and I'm taking AP AB CALCULUS.
What should I take next year?
I want whatever is easier, less work.

I'm between AP BC CALCULUS or AP STATISTICS.

please give reasons too haha
I'm really torn between the two haha

I am in AP Calc AB this year(I’m a junior) but I am planning to take both AP Calc BC and AP statistics because both are taught by the same teacher who is currently teaching me AP Calc AB and she is amazing! Really high pass rates and has only been at our school for a year! and a half now. People have passed the AP statistics exams with 5s with no extra supplementary material…

However that info might not help you.

Hmm… Are you really good at AP calc AB? then AP Calc BC should be good but I heard that although AP statistics math wise is easier, there is a lot of stuff to remember. At least that is what my friend said.

AP credit for Calculus BC will likely be more useful than AP credit for Statistics (assuming sufficiently high scores on the tests).

AP Calculus AB is typically accepted as first semester calculus.
AP Calculus BC is typically accepted as second semester calculus.
AP Statistics may be accepted as non-calculus based statistics, which is typically only useful for some social studies majors which do not require calculus; if a major requires calculus and statistics, it probably requires that the statistics be calculus-based.

None are likely to be accepted at super-elite science and engineering focused schools whose freshman calculus courses have much more theory than typical university freshman calculus courses or AP courses. But AP Calculus BC will likely be a better preparation for such a course than AP Statistics.

Alternatively, you may want to consider enrolling in a second semester calculus course at a local community college, and then enrolling in a multivariable calculus course in the semester after that.

I’m also a junior taking AP Calc AB, and next year I’m taking AP Stats.
Mostly because my school is pretty limited and doesn’t even have BC lol.

But yeah, if you’re looking for easy, AP Stats is easier, because in my school you can go from Algebra 2 to Stats, but to take Calc you need precalc.

AP Stats is defiantly easier math wise, but there is a HUGE writing component. Maybe my school is different but AP Stats here is considered just as difficult as AB simply because of all the writing and how time consuming it is.
