I have a quick rejection question. I applied for spring admission to Claremont McKenna and got back a letter saying that due to an overenrollment they are "not able to accept any new students for the spring semester." I was wondering if this is true or if other people have experienced this from other small schools as a way to let applicants down easy. I only ask becasue they went on to talk about sending in an application for the fall with a waived app fee. So, if any of you applied to CMC for the spring or have had a similar experience I would love to know. In Oct they said they should have between 3-10 spots open. Anyway, I would call but that would seem kinda rude, so any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

They're not lying. A lot of small schools don't offer midyear transfer every year. They wouldn't bump you up to fall admissions if you were rejected.
