<p>You can tell your mother she can keep any federal income tax credits that she can get for your attendance at college. If your family owes enough it taxes, that can be $2,500 a year of tax savings for each of 4 years. That assumes that you and your family are paying at least $4,000 or so in college costs (which can include loans).</p>
<p>Ah. Well as of right now our efc has changed about 5300, which would make her eligible for that charlie. I guess that can work out.</p>
<p>Now with my PELL grant out of the picture, I’ll be forced to consider loans (depending on if I get some of these summer scholarships. Applied to three more, two 1000 and one with an award of 2000).</p>
