What to wear for summer interviews

Since I'll be doing two interviews this summer, in weather that will most likely be hot and muggy, what would be appropriate to wear? Would knee-length black shorts be okay, or would that be too casual? I'm interviewing at Bates and Bowdoin, if it helps. I really need some advice; for the next ten days, I won't have Internet access!

are you a girl or a guy? it's hard to tell by your username. personally, I think the easiest way out would be to wear a skirt -- not denim, but anything business casual would be fine. and I can't imagine it would be terribly hot in Maine :)

black shorts sound all right to me, especially if you wore a semi-dressy top (short-sleeved dress shirt for a boy, cute blouse for a girl). and you can probably wear sandals too, but no flip-flops.

I'm a girl....I just saw an old post where someone said it was super hot when they visited Bowdoin. Hope that doesn't happen for me! You're right, aesthete - a skirt sounds like the best bet. Otherwise, I might get a pair of dress pants or something because it would be nice to use them again for interviews throughout the winter. Thanks!
