What to wear on re-visit day?

At all the revisits last year, my D wore a skirt with flat shoes, top, and had a little cardigan with her and felt like she dressed perfectly, not under or over dressed. Oh, I think one of the days she wore a casual dress with tights and flats (it was chilly that day) and brought a little jacket. I remember seeing one kid at the Hotchkiss revisit who had jeans on, and he looked really out of place and underdressed. I think the best advice is to look at the dress code for that particular school and stick to that for the day. I thought at all the prep school revisits that the majority of current female students had on skirts and flats.

can i wear a hat?

Hat: Outside - yes. Inside buildings - NO.

:( (10char)

TIGER - Are you allowed to wear hats indoors at your current school?

I’m gonna wear a top hat :)

yeah i can wear a hat at my school.

Speedo and a HAT!!

Any kids come for revisits dressed like Hip Hopsters or Gangsters?

I want to do that, not that in particular… just something totally out of the world, but I don’t want to give them a bad impression to begin with.

BAHAAHHA
I should dress all ghetto
and make a foil grill
and talk all ghetto. Which I can actually do QUITE. WELL.

and saaag my basketball shorts wayyy low:)
& foil bling ftw

But I thought dressing like a Hip Hopper wasn’t bad.

Hahha nooo
well at my school, it’s really really really common.
it’s pretty trippy though :|

ghetto?
hip hopster?
let’s bring down the level of offensiveness here

Offensiveness, huh? Some mild humor…

depends on your sense of humor and who you are…

Personally I find it offensive when I hear the word ghetto in this context. You may not, but I do.

I understand where you are coming from… We are all entitled to our opinions, and yours (if you ask me) is pretty good…

Well, I live in a really ghetto city, so the term “ghetto” isn’t considered offensive by any means anymore.

I can understand where GBR is coming from. I think the word “ghetto” has evolved into a mainstream American colloquialism now.
The origin of the low hanging pants fashion, for instance, came from prison, where you are not allowed to have a belt, and the prison wardrobers don’t care if they fit you a size too large. Kids who fashionably sported way too large pants without belts come from all walks of life. If someone call my son an ex-con just because he wore some fashion I would be offended too.
Hip Hop is by no means “ghetto”. People who create it and those who listen to it have evolved into mainstream America.
It’s funny though, how 10-20 years after-the-fact America mainstream mocks the previous generation’s coolness. Whether it’s the hippies, the disco dancers, the head bangers (Wayne’s World), or now it will be the Hip Hoppers of the 90’s. I expect the casual, comedic, deconstruction of the cultural revolution of the hip hop generation to be quite brutal, yet as funny as it was in previous generations.

^^ thank you.
