So my revisit day is coming up next week, and I want to look fresh, cute, and approachable, but not too formal or overdressed. I was wondering what people usually wear to them?

ps- I'm just bored and I'm very excited for my revisit day so I decided to start thinking about what I'm going to wear, I'm not really materialistic(if that's the right word for it).

same. my interview was in winter, but idk what to wear since it is spring now

probably should follow the dress code (like the one at Deerfield) when applicable, and work from there.
Above all, it should be nice and clean, with a hint of your personality. If you’d like to stand out from the crowd, take a risk and try something original and fashion-forward. If you are more laid back and chilled, a simple, clean-cut dress/shirt+pants (and maybe a touch of accessories) will do the job to impress!
Ohhh, don’t forget to dress to the weather. You don’t want to wear skirt and sandals at below 40 degrees and raining, you’ll appear having tried too hard.

any makeup or jewelry?

What to Wear:
Top:
Tie-Dye t-shirt that hasn’t been cleaned in forever. A leather vest from 1980. An old letterman jacket that has stains on it. and profane pins that state you’re very opinionated views

Bottom:
short shorts with sparkly leggings underneath. Make sure to put leg warmers on!

Shoes:
Get out your worst pair of imitation AF-1’s! They are a must have at BS and you can’t be seen without them! Make sure they have extremely bright slightly fading colors with writing all over them and several gang symbols.

With these items of clothing you are ensured to be the best looking person at the party! ;)

What is up with you tonight, Rad-in-Plaid? You’re acting crazy. :P

I’m wearing a floral ruffly skirt, a plain white blouse, and either brown sandals or sand colored heels.

im debating whether to wear my white button down oxford with a khaki skirt or khaki pants? probably just decide when the weather for my revisit day is known.
anybody know about shoes for the exeter “dress code”?

Also, like Gabiiwoz said, I’m taking a cold/rainy weather outfit just in case- tights, boots, and a sweater dress.

eh, lack of sleep.
it happens…

You’ll be doing a lot of walking! You will be going to classes with your re-visit host so you will be in and out of buildings, if it’s cold or rainy you’ll need a jacket. I agree it’s important to follow dress code wherever you are. Just be comfortable whatever you decide. It is a long busy day! Your mom should also wear comfortable shoes! 4 years ago I remember going up and down a lot of stairs when we took our S.

Thank you, anothercrazymom, you are right, I didn’t realize how much walking I would be doing.

We are on our way to revisits next week and I am getting ready now—lol.

Last year, my daughter wore a short jcrew skirt with a polo shirt and sweater. She fit right in. One thing we noticed was that every girl we saw was wearing rain boots. She decided then to get a pair. She wore flats which was great because she walked everywhere that day. Do not break in a pair of new shoes on revisit day.

At my S’s school all the girls wear Hunter boots. They come in a ton of great colors. I of course have the appropriate “mom” black ones! The best boots ever! Just try and remember what the kids were wearing on your tour, also check the student handbook online. At S’s school for example, no jeans, no flip flops before Spring long weekend, collared shirts but no jacket and tie. I am not as well versed in the girls dress code. Tasteful is always the way to go when it comes to jewelery and makeup, especially for moms! When your child goes to a school next year he or she doesn’t really want anyone to remember his or her parents!

:(

Makes me sad thinking about how my son will not only not be around, but the various kids who find their way to my house after school as well.

As far as dress goes, follow the code and keep it simple. I hope the weather is nice for everyone.

neato, I just meant remember for the wrong reasons! My S has always kept a nice framed picture of us in his room! On the first day of freshman orientation I had baked 8 dozen cookies, as the boys made their way from room to room they discovered the treats. S and his roomate made a lot of new friends that day, after that I sent cookies and brownies on a regular basis, whenever I was there I got thanks and a few hugs too! I now only bake for crew meets, but I believe the treats are remembered fondly!

Oh, I know! Your comment just made me think about how I’m not only giving up my son’s presence, but that of his friends as well. Our kitchen is pretty lively at about 3:30 in the afternoon and I’ll miss that.

Thanks for the ideas! keep them coming =] I’ll still probably end up going through at least 5 different outfits lol

I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve worried about my clothes (I’m a terrible teenager, or mabye a late bloomer :p). What is BS doing to me! The other day I was wearing a polo, out of character for me who always wears jeans and a tee, and one of my friends accused me of looking like a ‘prep’. She was meaning a ‘popular’ kid but it made me think, I"m going to actually be a real prep in the classic prep school sense and have to dress like the kids I’m no big fan of ;)

I know! I’m a tad worried that I’ll come back home to the west coast dressing all preppy and different, and my friends will be like, “What happened to you?” Although I guess it won’t be too different since we go to a uniform school now anyway, so we all own a lot of polos…but still. I have no clue what I’m going to wear. Funnily enough, Hunter boots are everywhere on the west coast too, although I don’t own any. I guess I’ll just go with the dress code and the weather :)
