I'm going on a group overnight college visit on a bus and I'm wondering what to wear. The first evening we are eating dinner and hanging out with the student(s) we are rooming with. The next day is a "fall open house" day where you attend different sessions and eat with the students. I am also meeting the coach for lunch. It's d-3 so it's not overly formal or anything.

I was just wondering what appropriate attire would be? Thanks!

You could also go homeless. Try to grow a beard, dye it gray. Pick up some plastic bags and stuff them inside more plastic bags. Ride your bike into the Starbucks.

^^ If she were to go commando…nobody would know.

Anyway, I would say wear something nice but casual. When you go to something like this just try to blend in…you don’t want anyone talking about what you were wearing. Maybe khakis or dark jeans and a button down and/or sweater would work. I’m a guy, so I’m not as familiar with what a girl could wear for that formality level, but I hope this helps more than the idiots on this thread.

hella tight close n make sure your showin ur goods u know what im sayin’? coach will be all over u hahah

no but just dress with what you would normally wear, make sure it’s comfortable though! a button down with a couple buttons done loose and sleeves up would be nice, to show formality as well as laid-back. And probably dark-wash jeans.

I’ll add that it depends on what college it is also. Some just have a more formal vibe, some much more casual. Unless it’s a preppy/formal school, I think nice jeans and a nice top work just fine, especially since you didn’t list a formal interview as one of your activities. By nice I mean not too old, faded, or raggedy. Nulli said it - you’ll feel more comfortable if you blend in with the other students, and feeling comfortable is important!

I’m tellin’ you man- they really do wear leaves! especially those colleges out in the boonies or those hippie colleges! coughHampshirecough Lines like Marvelous Maple and Leisure Leaf are hot right now!

But seriously, just wear what you think students will wear- normal clothes. They key is try and blend and see if you can feel comfortable. You can’t really do that in something you’re not used to.
