I have an interview coming up soon and I need to know what to wear to this interview. It is VERY important to me so I want to be portrayed as serious and ready to work but with a twist of fun loving and joyful. I am a girl and will have my interview in New England (CT) so any suggestions would be very helpful. The school im interviewing at is an all girls school as well. Thanks for all your help everyone!

smart casual, just collared shirt and a dress or sth? idk im a guy hahah

well its been pretty warm up here lately...so i would say i nice top with a skirt....or a collared shirt and nice shorts would even work...just dont be messy and i think anything would work...just remember be yourself and have fun learning about the school! What school are u visiting???
Also, Welcome to CC!!!
Good Luck!!
If you have any other questions, just ask! :)

Look at the view book and or website of the school for ideas. You want to look like you already go there! Be neat and clean, and think conservative. Blend in.
Then let your true self shine through!

im visiting MPS

I think a collared shirt and a skirt (not too short, make it almost knee-length) would be good, with some ballet flats.

i was thinking a dress (not very dressy) with a tan blazer and some flats?

Good luck. I am sure you will do fine. Just choose an outfit that is somewhat conservative, so that they remember you, not what you were wearing. Personally, I would not recommend wearing shorts. Either wear a skirt (knee length or a little above) or a summer dress. One of my daughters interviewed during the summer and every tour guide (at 5 schools)had on a summery skirt with a collared shirt.

walden400, sounds good :)

k thanks i really appreciated you help

NO shorts. you can wear a dress or a skirt

yeah, i was planning on wearing a dress with a blazer and some flats. very classic preppy NE chic.

That will be great!

great thanks. i really hope it goes well. this school is my DREAM~!

cute long enough skirt and a polo?

i think im going to go with a dress and a blazer.

for when it gets slightly more chilly in sep/october, would a pair of jeans+shirt be ok?

no.. definitely not a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. the interviews are a little more formal than that. im not saying to wear a tux or ballgown or anything, but try to present yourself in a way that shows the school that you are serious about applying and recognize what an excellent institiution it is.
that being said, don't go over the top, although it would probably be better to go overdressed than under. leaves a better impression.

I have been told that a prospective student should follow the school's dress code for the interview. This appears sound advice to me. Perhaps I would go on the nicer side of the code. I wouldn't wear jeans under any circumstances.

i agree to never wear jeans to an interview of this caliber. i understand that you should not over dress, but something simple and profession, i believe, will send good vibes to an interviewer that shows them that you are ready to work, but you have a personality that is greater than that of a rock. :)
