What to wear to an admitted students reception for a casual school?

title. I’m tired of wearing pantsuits and I don’t expect your answers to be jeans. I just want to be more comfortable. It will rain that day. (I am a female.)

I love the ease and comfort of casual dresses, like a sweater dress. Paired with boots.

Or slacks and sweater – really, whatever is comfortable given the weather. Also, if it’s a rainy, sloppy day, rain (or snow) boots are fine and sensible.

At this rate, if you’re looking at NE schools, there’s a chance of snow. Layers and boots.

what about parents’ night? No jeans, right?

We went to an accepted student’s reception at someone’s home. It said casual dress. My husband and I both wore jeans and were in good company. Almost every adult had jeans on. I guess it depends on the type of event.

Boarding schools are not going to comment on the parents’ sartorial splendor. They should wear whatever makes them comfortable and nobody will bat an eye. Plus, from personal experience, parents generally don’t take fashion advice from their teen-aged kids.
