What should I wear?

Preferably, the dress code of the school to which you are applying. The exception may lay in the few schools such as Andover or Milton, which have a “casual” dress code. In such a case I would advice against going in polyester shorts and a T-Shirt but see no need for you to wear a tie and all. Maybe a simple sweatshirt/shirt with nice pants or jeans.

That being said, if you have to go out of your way to do any of this I doubt it is worth it. The interviewer will understand.

Thanks, by the way I’m not a boy haha

Oh, sorry I assumed that. I think the same holds true–I’m no one to say, though (forget the tie).

Thanks though :)

This is what I wore to an interview:

dark blue V-neck sweater with white tank inside
black dress pants
scarf

I think I overdressed a bit, especially with the scarf. It was at a casual dress code school.

guys should wear nice pants, a button down shirt and a tie.

girls should wear a conservative top (sweater/button down shirt) and a nice pair of pants/skirt.

remember you will be touring the campus as well and will probably be outside- so bring a warm coat (and boots if it’s snowy)!

When I was interviewing for prep schools, I always wore a blouse, nice skirt, tights, and flats. But slacks are also ok. I just hate dress pants. I agree with bringing a coat.

There’s no need to bring a coat if you’re visiting Cate or Thacher this week. It’s a little chilly in the early morning but pleasantly warms to the 70’s during the day.

If I’m doing an Exeter alumni interview, would a nice skirt, a tank, and a nice cardigan over it be formal enough?

That should be fine. Make sure the tank is nice and not low cut or anything. Good Luck!!!
