I’m going to be visiting Brown for three days. I was wondering if there is anything in particular I should wear. I know this might be a silly question but I need some advice. PS. I’m a girl.

Wear what you would normally wear! The kids at Brown are so nice and accepting of all people! Just be yourself!

You should definitely wear a raincoat. When we went for our school visit, it was raining, which according to my son, means it’s ALWAYS raining at Brown, 365 days a year. Anyway, unless you’re going to have an interview, wear whatever–there are going to be dozens to hundreds of people going on the school visits which involve (free preview) a condescending lecture on how not EVERYONE in the audience is smart enough to get into the wonder that is Brown, but you’ll probably find SOMEWHERE to go to college, and then a walking tour. No doubt, in the rain.

“Providence, RI where it rains two days out of three except during the rainy season when it snows like a *****, and Friendship is a one way street. Rich folks live on Power Street, but most of us live off Hope.”

Yeah, just be prepared for all sorts of weather. Umbrellas are very useful.

Oh for the love of god, it doesn’t rain that much.

@i_wanna: I’m living with another Brown alum at law school this year, and he just hung that poster in our living room. I am very much a fan.

If you have cute rainboots, and they are not too much of a luggage nightmare, bring them. I see girls on campus wearing them even when it is barely raining! (and comparing designs is a conversation starter!) In general just dress in what you are comfortable for the weather and shoes that are comfortable for lots of walking. (Biggest mistake is girls overdressing, esp heels). Even if you are staying overnight with a friend (for parties etc) you really don’t need anything dressier than a cute blouse to go with jeans.
