what to write about in a college admissions essay?

<p>hey..i am totally confused on what to write about in my college essay...about my interests or achievements or skills or anything that would best characterize me as a "person"?..what do the Admissions officers look for?(ivy league schools in particular:)..shooting for them)</p>

<p>thanx gibby. i ended up writing about my experience being a “guest lecturer”, lecturing people almost double my age pursuing their MBA.,MPhil.,Ph.D in a university here. that actually meant a lot to me. i learnt what i was capable of doing. lotta opportunities pouring in now from colleges askin me to lecture their students on linguistics…pretty amazing…thanx to my gap year that actually got me out of the hectic study process and showed me what all was there in this world that i could get done and have fun doing :)</p>
