<p>So far I've visited several colleges, and what really stood out to me was how uptight and tense the kids at MIT seemed compared to the kids at Yale. So what I'm asking is, in your opinion, what other top colleges have this chill, relaxed atmosphere, despite their reputation for being academically rigorous?</p>
<p>Michigan seems pretty good. but might not be a ‘top college’ like you talk about. still very good though.</p>
<p>I feel like everywhere is less tense than MIT! But of the Ivies, maybe Brown or Dartmouth. Of liberal arts colleges, I think they might usually be better than research universities anyway, but I’ve heard particularly good things about Carleton.</p>
