I'm just wondering what type of engineer you are or what type of engineering you are majoring in. Why did you choose this and do you have any regrets?

I am an electrical engineer, have five years experiences in industry, and have studied electrical engineering at every level. I chose this because (1) my father worked for a firm that did EE work and I was able to get an early internship there that introduced me to the work, (2) although I started in aerospace engineering I found I liked neither the work nor the prospects, and (3) ultimately I found I both enjoyed it and was good at it. While I have many regrets in life, none of them involve the choice to study electrical engineering.

Wanting to become an Aerospace Engineer. It’s in my blood.

I want to be an Electrical Engineer!

I have degrees in civil engineering, but am working as a construction manager. I’ve always had a fascination with construction and buildings since I was young, so this was a perfect fit. My engineering degrees helped me understand the science behind these things and how they work. My career lets me get out from behind the desk and work more with people, while utilizing some of the technical knowledge I learned (and am still learning on the job).

My career choice also does not tie me down to any region of the country (or world) in particular. Hypothetically, I can pick up my stuff and move to Omaha, NE, Las Vegas, NV, or Portland, OR and not be forced to find a new career.

No regrets.

I am a mechanical/aerospace engineer. I am still working on the Ph.D. as we speak.

I chose it because I have been fascinated by planes since a very young age combined with a natural curiosity for why things physically are the way they are. As I have dug deeper into all the material, I have only become more fascinated.

My only regret is that what I want to do requires so much school, but professionally I am very happy.

EE. I’m working right now, but I want grad school–baaaaaaaad.

Electrical <3

Ive become a lazy engineer
