<p>The problem you have with Federal government jobs is that you have to work for the Federal government. Get reorganized every 4 or 8 years. Work for political appointees who are both idiots and mean-spirited. See the program you have dedicated yourself to disappear over night. Endure stupid newspaper reporters who don't understand what you do and don't care as long as they can write a story excoriating government employees. Have candidates for office run against you. We can go on if you like. Shall we talk about having to live it one of the highest cost areas of the country and the horrendous traffic?</p>
<p>What's the best thing about being a Fed? It's being an ex-Fed especially if those of us who are in civil service retirement program, which fewer and fewer government employees are. It's my reward for having endured 30 years in the Federal government.</p>
