I don’t think BU gives many merit apart from the Trustee and Presidential scholarships. The Trustee requires nomination by your high school and a supplemental application. The Presidential requires you apply at the Dec 1 deadline. There are a few other merit scholarships and some also require nomination.

http://www.bu.edu/admissions/apply/costs-aid-scholarships/scholarships/

I think you have a chance, but you have to be a bit proactive. If you apply at the January deadline, you are out of luck.

I have found that family finances have much to do with the offers. My son applied for every scholarship BU offered with 2130 SATs, 3.8 gpa unweighted, most rigorous courseload, intel semifinalist, excellent recommendations and eloquent essays. We have financial need. He received no scholarships. His package was 36,000 in merit aid and a 10,000 research fellowship. This package was 20,000 more than the financial calculator predicted.
