what type of punctuation is this "‽" ???

its called an interrobang and happens to be one of my favorites. But anyways, now for my alterior motive.

how long is too long for an essay?

my georgetown essay is currently 1 page single spaced. It said on the application to keep them each at about a page...this means single spaced right? because a double spaced page is like only 250 words and ridiculously short....that would hardly be an essay

I'm guessing you're around 800 words, right? That sounds pretty reasonable.

Won't a single spaced page be around 500 words instead of 800?

okay i lied...its about a bit and a bit...and yes it is 821 words. I interpreted the it should be about a page as a page single spaced. I will downscale...gut it if i have to but i like its length...it is hard to get everything out in such a short amount of space.

Haha I had a friend in high school who loved interrobangs for some reason....

....sorry I'll leave.

Ya the college apps confuse me they say essay should be one page then in parenthises (500 words) so i start to type and when i reach 500 i am only about 3/4 of the way down the page....so do i keep typing until a page or stay around 500 words

500 is only a page if you have a lot of paragraph breaks and use really long words.

o ha ha that brings up another point i notice reading some that paragraphs are double space beteween

EX: this is the end of one Paragraph
Beginning of new Paragraph

or

end of one paragraph

Begining of new

Don't worry zfox my georgetown essay was a page single spaced and a bit. They didn't hold me against it. Very few places take their word counts too exactly, as long as you are close. The exception is the service academies. You can always mess with the margins if it bothers you :)
