Hey what type of stats and such does a kid usually have when they get offered the Honors program? And is the honors program only for specific colleges? I applied to CAS and I am Valedictorian out of about 160, I took 7 APs, my GPA is 4.3 w. 4.0 uw. and I am in a ton of ECs… SAT was a 2040 and ACT was a 32… Im just wondering if these are the type of stats that get accepted to the honors program… thanks

Yes, you will be offered admission into Honors.

people who respond to questions like this with an absolute "yes" or "no" usually don't know what they are talking about....

your GPA and class rank CERTAINLY qualify you for the honors program, but your SAT scores may very well hurt your chances

all in all, I'd say you have a good shot, but I would not say that yes, you will definitely be admitted...

My friend's father is a prof. at BU and he's had a peek at the profiles of the kids who are being considered for the Honors program. Everything you said sounded really good, the only thing that might hurt you is your SAT score. I believe the average is around 2100.

Considering your other stats though, I'd say you'll probably get in.

would you say that a 2170 SAT is high enough? my school doesnt rank or do GPA

I believe Honors is only for CAS. I'm in COM, and there is no honors program to get into.

yeah i think so too, i ll be in CAS

Wishmeluck, the OP has almost the exact same stats as my son who is in the Honors Program. That is why I said he would be offered admission.

SMG has an honors program also. That's the one I'm hoping to get into and I'm really nervous about that.
