<p>I don’t think many people outside of a given state are that familiar with the non-flagship schools of that particular state. I for one live in NJ and have never heard anything about SUNY New Paltz.</p>

<p>I am familiar with SUNY being the state schools in NY, I’ve just never heard of New Paltz. =]</p>

<p>SUNY New Paltz is a really cool state school in upstate NY, near Woodstock. Has a reputation for being artsy and is a very up and coming place…1 1/2 hours from NYC, it’s got a great little town with funky restaurants and shops. Near the mountains, it’s also a popular tourist attraction. Check it out!</p>
