What type of VOLUNTEER is interesting to GU?

I am a current junior in a boarding school, and I love GU!

I have been working in a kindergarten for a couple weeks last summer, and have fulfilled my volunteer hours in school, other than those two, I have no other volunteer experience. So I am thinking about doing something this summer. Sadly, I can't spend too much time on it (less than 3 weeks) because I have to spend a lot of time on SAT preparation.

I am looking for some suggestions on what I am supposed to work on or which organization should I work for. I am also curious about what type of volunteering is most attractive to GU. (probably going for International Relations or Business or Economics)

Thank you for sharing your wits : )

There’s no cookie cutter volunteer criteria for getting in to Georgetown. What’s best is if you find an organization you’re really passionate about and expressing that through regular volunteering rather than just volunteering for say 20 hrs just to fulfill graduation requirements.

Do what you love! I was a volunteer/intern at the Baltimore National Aquarium and a counselor at a Spanish Summer Camp. I am going into GU this year as a Russian/Biology major. So my volunteer ECs were related to what I want to study. I was very committed to both as well, which I think sticks out. Like I said, do what you love! GU will see if you’re passionate about something.
