what type of work experience

what job title or type of work experience would be the best when applying to a top biz school?

anyone have feedback??? anything would be great.

Yea, i am curious too.

Business schools are not really focused on a specific job title type or type of work experience. My Stanford Business school class had a reasonably large number coming out of finance jobs, but also everything from public sector to acting to university jobs. You can come from any field and be successful in b-school admissions.

do internships count as acceptable "work experience"? That is, if you do yearlong programs?

imalso wondering this as well.

Does serving the force as a police officer count as work experience?

i've always heard that work experience is thee most important factor during the admissions process. So in that sense wouldn't specific job experience be demanded?

When I say not focused on a "specific" job title or type of work experience, I just meant that it can be in any field.

Tpeck, if you meant serving the force as in "The Force be with you", it might not count as work experience, but it would probably win you points anyway ;). If you mean serving as a police officer in a municipality somewhere, yes - that counts as work experience.

bonafide - I can't say that I'm sure re internships, but I believe that what business schools are looking for is some time in the real world as opposed to a direct hop out of college. Whether you were paid or not is not important.
