Let's say there's an Aerospace Engineer. Assuming all other things being equal in terms of work experience and such, what types of jobs/projects would a person with a Masters degree work on versus a person with a PhD?

The type of project probably wouldn’t change but the level of control or visibility of the individual probably would be different.

People with PhDs can usually get into middle and then upper management a lot quicker than those with just a Masters. I generally see, in a corporate setting, Sr management have PhDs or MSs with an MBA a lot sooner than BSs with MBA or those with just a MS, an a heck of a lot sooner than those with just a BS.
