By any chance, does anyone know what kind of scholarships I may earn if I’m from a private high school? Thanks!
Scholarships are based on things such as financial need, merit, athletics (for some recruited athletes).-- not if you are from a public or private HS.
Does your private school offer any scholarships?
In Sept. you wrote this:
Your threads are confusing. Are you in a public high school but considering transferring to a private one?
I gather from your multiple threads on the topic that your primary goal is to get into an Ivy or other highly selective university. You’re just starting your freshman year of high school, so you have time. But I think a relentless pursuit for a brand name – basing every decision on whether or not it might get you into an Ivy – will hurt you in the long run.
The best aid comes from colleges. Some offer merit for high GPA + high SAT/ACT scores. Others offer need based aid, but the ones that offer the most require high stats to get in. If finances are an issue, study for the standardized tests and do as well in school as you can. Find some financial safeties (they may be your local state schools). And have a talk early in the process to find out how much they can pay.
Some catholic colleges ask in their net price calculator whether you are graduating from a Catholic high school or are from a particular catholic diocese.
