So this year wasnt so great.. I'm trying to get into a UC..

Also, to make up for the gpa , i wanted to study my ass off for SAT.

Anything i can start doing to prepare for it? Don't think I can take a special class.

Do I have any chances of making it into any UC? Im hoping to major in comp sci / programming

I’ll be honest here.

Assuming you do your absolute best your junior year you’ll have around 3.5 GPA, which may depending on extra-curriculars, SAT scores, and college essays might put you in reach for UCs Riverside, Santa Cruz, and Merced. But I’m afraid even this is somewhat uncertain. :(

Good luck.

Assuming that you have excellent EC’s, a good SAT score and get all A’s your junior year, UCD, UCSD and UCI are matches. You said you were going to study you ass of for the SAT, if you do…lets say 2000+ you’re all good.

And PLEASE! The classes you’re taking for your junior year look like crap, it’s not that hard to take at least 2 honors/ap’s. You can get into a UC only if you start beefing up your academics now.

The problem is though that he can’t anything above a 4.0 with his current schedule next year (no weighted classes) which makes his average GPA around 3.5. In turn, he may not be able to get into weighted classes depending on his grades in his current classes-although in my high school they offer ways to apply for AP classes even with Cs.
