for fall 2007 with a 3.05 GPA, all my IGETC done and all my Major work done? My major is economics.

uci, ucr, ucd, ucsc - match

ucsb - slight reach

ucsd - reach

ucla,ucb - yeah....

what hobo said.
Raise your GPA to 3.2. You'll have better chance, and even have a good chance for UC San Diego.

If I have all my stuff done could I take a random class just to raise my GPA or would this look bad?

Take some Online Class...

That's what I was planning to do, can they just be random classes though that have nothing to do with my major?

doesn't matter. really.
Just don't let it be some really easy class like "How to succeed in college 101" or something like that ;)

what's a realistic GPA for UCLA and UCB?

for UCLA and UCB, Economics major is really impacted.

Unless you have some kind of TAP with UCLA, you'd have very hard chance of getting into UCLA econ major if your GPA is under 3.5

*FYI: the average ADMITTED GPA for UCLA's Econ major was a 3.76. Of course, this is not the minimum, but if you want to go for UCLA with somewhat relief, you might as well shoot for a 3.7

For UC Berkeley, No idea, but the mid 50% of admitted transfer students had GPA between 3.53 and 3.88, so you might as well shoot for a 3.6.

3.8-4.0 for a very good chance

*EDIT woops thought you were talking about Bus-Econ
