I would like to go to into psychology in some capacity, but my preferred way is through nursing (becoming a psychiatric nurse). I think nursing also has a broad spectrum of different specialties I could go into if I didn't like it. So what I'm saying is, nursing is my preferred undergrad, with psych being second.

However, nursing is far more competitive in the two main schools I am applying to (Pitt and Penn State). Should I try to get into their nursing program and risk not getting into the school at all, or go into psychology to play it safe, given my stats?

I've only taken the SAT once and I am practicing a lot over the summer so I hope to at least break 1900, but who knows.

Is it worth it for me to apply to the nursing programs?
