What undgrad major is Cornell most known for?

What undgrad major is Cornell most known for? I know Cornell has top hotel administration and some science majors.

How about non-science majors such as international relations or College of Arts and Science in Cornell? Are they top 10 in the nation? Thanks in advance!

Cornell has an IR concentration (minor) but no major...

It's (Undergrad) Business Major (AEM - Applied Economics and Management) is #10 according to Business Week (2007 Rankings). Their MBA is quite reputed too. I also think they're the only Ivy with an Agriculture School.

and a hotel school, and an ILR school, and offers practically anything you'd want to study

Architecture is the very very VERY top

Yep Cornell truly is awesome.

yes all those majors are highly ranked, but you have to ask yourself, what is Cornell? Cornell is a science school. That's what it's founded and funded on. Yes I know, Any Person, Any Study, but at the end of the day when you think Cornell do you think CEO or Nobel Prize? They have 30+ Nobel Prize winners amongst the faculty, how many CEOs or former CEOs do you think are amongst the faculty? With that in mind, I think the most well known majors at Cornell are specialized sciences, things along the lines of Food Science, Plant Science, etc. and the mother of all those sciences Biology. They are also pretty good for Engineering.

how many CEOs or former CEOs do you think are amongst the faculty?

if you're trying to imply that cornell is not good for business, then you're wrong... and i don't know of many CEO turned professors at any school...

i could see trump turning professor on us and making a show about it

Madden Bus, Who would honestly give up being a CEO and teach at Cornell ? Among the alumni, there are several CEOs.

Engineering is the undergrad major of 20% of Fortune 500 CEO's and Cornell is best engineering school in Ivies. Despite much larger size of publics and varied routes to CEO, no conference is close to Ivies in number of CEO's who went to college there, and Ivy business schools dominate MBA-recipients among CEO's.

That said, people from places like Cleveland State and Augustana College end up as CEO's as well. Nothing is guaranteed just because you go to a prestigious college.

To the point, though, business to teaching is not a likely route as a career. One might teach a course or two, but I don't think Wal-Mart's or GM's CEO is likely to turn up as a full-time professor anywhere.

Cornell's BARCH program has been rated #1 undergraduate program by Design and Intelligence for quite a few years!!!! So yes it's at THE VERY TOP
