How does one semester of A’s increase a 4.21 GPA to a 4.77 when 6 semesters that averaged a 4.21?
@mom2collegekids - I’m guessing he means that is his GPA for this semester…
I applaud your desire to go to a school where you will be challenged by both the courses and the students around you. That’s the right mental state. As others have said, you don’t have to go to an Ivy to find that environment. Like the others, I think you’re in good shape to get admitted to a top-40 level school. that could mean anything as diverse as Carnegie Mellon or the University of Virginia.
With schools required school-specific essays, you really don’t want to work on too many applications, in addition to the monetary cost. I agree that you should decide what sort of school you want to go to–large or small, city or suburbs or rural, section of the country, etc.–and then some good choices will jump out at you. It’s four years of your life; the important thing is to be happy: if you’re not in the right place for you, you will be miserable and your performance will suffer. As someone who chose the wrong MBA program and was overwhelmed and frustrated, not worth it.
@mom2collegekids First, I really appreciate all your feedback. Second, I was referring to my current semester GPA, I currently have a 4.77 for just the first semester of Senior year. I do live in California, and I agree that Clemson is probably not an actual safety school. I haven’t taken SAT Subject tests.
