I’m currently going to a competitive high school.
I live in California so it is going to be instate.
My soph and junior gpa is about a 4.25
I played 4 years of football and track and I was both varsity captains.
I was also the vp for a club.
I got a 2000 SAT
I want to study medical
I also had surgery on my foot several times to remove a cancerous product and I was able to handle hard sports so it shows hardships. Imma write that on my personal statements and claim that was the factor that encouraged me to study in the medical field
Do I have high chances of getting into Uc Davis, San Diego, or even la and Berkeley?
I also volunteered at one place consistently for 3-4 years I have like 300- 400 hours
I have like 3.8ish unweighted
UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
You need to pick a major. If you plan to pursue Medical School, you can major in anything as long as take the required courses to apply.
The commonly accepted coursework requirements for medical school include a minimum of 1 year of:
General biology
Physics with lab
General chemistry (inorganic chemistry) with lab
Organic chemistry with lab
Calculus
English
New - Sociology
New - Psychology
You have good stats but as many applicants are finding out this year, those are not always good enough to get you into many of the UC’s. Outstanding/unique EC’s and essays will definitely help.
I would definitely apply to UCD/UCSD and UCB but make sure you have some solid Match and Safety schools on your list. I would add UCI/UCR/UCSC as Match/Safety schools if you want to attend a UC only.
So why are like the chances? Percentage ish? What UCs I can definitely get into. I’m thinking if majoring genetics or bio or neuroscience
There is no way to give percentages since UC admissions are holistic, they take into account your Stats along with EC’s and essays which are subjective depending upon the admission officers that are looking over your application. I think you have a high chance at UCR/UCSC and have a very good chance at UCI and UCD. You are competitive applicant but beyond that, there is no guarantee. Apply broadly and hope for the best. If you have not take a look at the Decision threads for the UC’s this year, I highly suggest you do and see there is no magic formula to get into a UC and look at some of the High Stat applicants that were Waitlisted or Rejected.
as u said I am a high competitive applicant for Davis and Irvine, am I a good applicant and good enough for me to actually rely on them? Because I’ll be satisfied with Davis. Also am I qualified for West Point?
Sorry, I know nothing about West Point. Hopefully another poster can chime in.
Do you want to serve as an officer, leading soldiers in our current time of war? Or do you want to “study medical”?
One of your other threads (recently locked) indicates you may not have the character and fortitude to be a viable USMA applicant, though.
