Any updates concerning Colby College please?
I know someone that got of the UC Santa Cruz waitlist a couple days back
Princeton has closed its waitlist today (June 6), according to a post on another CC thread on Ivy League/ Princeton University
http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/princeton-university/2138784-princeton-class-of-2023-waitlist-discussion.html
A friend of DS just accepted an offer off the waitlist from Yale (offer was made on Thursday.) He had committed to Amherst College.
There are two posts today from students and/or parents who have been accepted from the UMich waitlist.
As I look at who is getting in off waitlists in various forums it seems those without financial need are more likely to get in. Good for future students to consider, that if you are in need, you should embrace your other choices vs. have expectations for being admitted off a waitlist.
Amending Post #264 above, four (4) students posted on CC that they came off the waitlist at UMich this past Saturday (6/08/19).
Denison closed their WL.
Any news about Stanford waitlist?
BC closed their waitlist, an email was just sent out.
@AwaitingApplicant131 Are you referring to Barnard College when you mentioned BC?
I think BC is always Boston College
@tbyrxx it’s Boston College.
Hunter College (CUNY) is fully enrolled. I’m not sure if they every had a wait list, but according to an email sent to S19, they are not taking any more students.
any news about Bates or Rochester?
Bates emailed my daughter and said they were currently full but that they would keep her on the list. She has significant financial need so essentially she has no shot of getting accepted even if a spot opens up. Her packages at other schools were just as good as Bates would be so in my opinion it is their loss.
A year from now she won’t remember that she wanted to anywhere but where she is.
This was a particularly brutal year to be applying to Bates. Good luck to your daughter next year!
Thanks @sue22 I know it was a brutal year, and we were a little naive on the whole need aware thing… Her stats were at the very high end for all of these schools she applied to so we thought she had a chance. If I had realized that these stats are essentially meaningless we would have had a different mix of schools on our list! But, as you said, it all works out and she had two liberal arts schools to choose from - just not the ones she thought. And even if she didn’t get into the dream school, her grades and scores gave her a great package so we have tried to explain to her that she should be proud. I really hope someday all of the kids who worked so hard and didn’t have the choices they thought realize that their efforts were not in vain!
Barnard is closed.
UMich’s waitlist is closed as of 6/28/19 per the waitlist thread.
