What was the acceptance rate for UCSB?

Acceptance rates do not get released till mid-April.

^^^ ditto.
yet i know the acceptance rates are much lower than last year due to the current financial status and the economy.

^ don’t i know it… sigh, thanks guys

i guess the acceptance rate was sorta “leaked.” on the finaid website, under letter from the director of financial aid, it was mentioned that there will be appx 4000 new freshmen at ucsb this upcoming year, out of an acceptance class of 21,000, however it does not state how many students applied to ucsb. but it does say that ucsb will highly unlikely give you more money than your fafsa said you should get even if your family experiences a loss of income (from my quick scan of the document)

Wow, great catch on that PDF! Lets say 21,000 got accepted (it says it was at least that amount). There was a total of 44,673 applications to UCSB according to this:

That means the acceptance rate was 47.01% I predicted 45.89% in this thread, looks like I was pretty close!

Of course, the more you add to 21,000 the acceptance rate gets slightly higher. Looks like they accepted slightly more people that I predicted.

nice find guys
