EC's Activities/ Involvement: All kinds of things.
strengths/weakness: English, history, Spanish. Weakness: math, SCIENCE
what's your hook? I dunno. I can pay for Trinity? I'm in-state?

Opinion of Trinity: Trinity is a great school. The curriculum is flexible (huge plus), the campus is beautiful, and whoever goes there will get a stellar education. Plus they have the 12 College Consortium thing, which is awesome, and a fabulous study abroad program. They also place a lot of emphasis on community service which is great. I really enjoyed visiting there. However, it IS in Hartford, and I can attest to the fact that Hartford SUCKS. I do not want to go to school 45 minutes away from home nor do I want to go to school in such a crappy area, which is why I'm going to either DC or Boston. I think there is a lot more to gain from going to school in one of those cities. But I loved Trinity and am looking forward to visiting it one last time for the VIP Days. I hope my personal feelings about Hartford will not deter you from going there. It really is a wonderful school.
Other school's you've gotten into: Brandeis, Bucknell, GW, UConn, Fordham
Attending Open House April 11/12th: Yes!
mydzungC is offline

I know of at least 4 intls with great stats who were rejected outright :-/ Finaid requirement tho.

Decision: Rejected (apparently the only one on CC rejected from here)
Location: Albany, NY
Race: male caucasian
SATs: 670 math, 680 verbal
GPA: 3.0 through Junior year, 3.7 for the 1st semester senior year
APs/Honors: Math 2A(counts as honors) [C], Honors English 10 [C], Honors History 10 [A-], Honors Chem [A-], Honors Latin Accelerated 1/2 [A], AP Macro [A], AP Gov [A]
Rank: school dont rank, but I estimated myself in top 50% (just barely)

Essay: okay, had a few ambiguities that I noticed the day AFTER sending app, but nothing strictly wrong; good content and organization
Recs: amazing, i suppose
Interview: not perfect, but still quite good
ECs/Work/volunteer: owned a business, work same job for last 3 years, intern w/ mayor for a month, 3 year volunteer for city beautification, served on public library review council, highly involved in city historic society, member of chamber of commerce; school club: VP of JSA
Strengths/weaknesses: strong in history and social sciences, okay in science; suck at math and my english teachers hate me (though I personally think I am a very very good analytical and research writer)

Opinion: They rejected me, so they can go to hell.
I had some small concerns about campus safety, but I think what people say here is overblown and embellished. I was turned off by the description of the student body, since it is exactly what my high school would be described as - and it has been four years of pure hell with them. I mostly applied because it gives lots of money in finaid, has a very strong academic reputation, and is in a major city with many opportunities for internships (I will major in poli-sci)
Other colleges: GW, rejected; American, rejected; Fordham, waitlisted; Syracuse, accepted [attending]; Loyola - Chicago, accepted;

Accepted: Yes
Location/Gender/Ethnicity: Florida/Female/Caucasian

ACT: 34
AP's/Type of Classes: 9 APs total (5 senior; 3 junior - 5 on Lang & Comp and BC Calc, 3 on Chem; 1 sophomore - 4 on Euro); almost all other classes honors
GPA/Rank: (4.0 UW/5.0 W scale) 3.9 UW/4.5 W; School does not rank
Other: NM Finalist; AP Scholar w/ Honor

Essay: I don't remember which I sent to them...they were decent but not my best writing, though I think they told Trinity what I'm about
Counselor Rec: Probably pretty good
Teacher Rec: Decent I hope, but I didn't read them
Interview: Did I have one? Oh yeah...over the phone in December with an alum...it was alright, but I wasn't at all prepared
Any Supp. Materials: Sent the abstract from a scientific research paper that I wrote in '03
Activities/Involvement: Unique leadership program; lots of consistent community service; state championship French team; summer research program (university-level); a few offices held
Strengths/Weakness: ECs, scores / grades dropped some on midyear report, didn't know much about the school
What's your hook? I honestly don't know...you can decide from what I've told you above, I guess.

Opinion of Trinity: I have been very impressed with the personal attention as far as admission is concerned. I didn't visit the school, so I can't comment on the students or campus. I was drawn to the unique programs (Cities, ISP, Human Rights, etc).
Other school's you've gotten into: American U, Bates, BC, UFlorida, George Washington, Tufts; WLed at 4 others (Amherst, Brown, Georgetown, Haverford); Rejected from Yale (not a surprise)
Attending Open House April 11/12th: No. I've decided not to pursue Trinity as an option...probably for very weak reasons, but I had to cut down the list somehow, so I did.

A little bit late... but here we go.

Teacher's Rec: Great

Any Supp. Materials: nope
EC's Activities/ Involvement: A few leadership positions, tennis, some voluteering.
strengths/weakness: Weak SATs.
what's your hook? I truly don't know...?

Opinion of Trinity: An academically strong school. But I am not too fond of the student body from what many people (including my GC and some teachers) had described. Applied only because I wanted to apply to more LACs and it's fairly close to home (location is very important for me in choosing a college).
Other school's you've gotten into: Mount Holyoke (attending), Northeastern, UMass Amherst, Albright.
Attending Open House April 11/12th: Didn't.

Accepted: Yes
Location/gender: GA, Female

Interview: none
Any Supp. Materials: nope
EC's Activities/ Involvement: Theatre, Outdoor Leadership, church activity, activism
strengths/weakness: Activism/did not have the best of grades
what's your hook? Activism I guess...

Opinion of Trinity: I am going. Not quite sure why. It just felt right. I also loved the Human Rights program
Other school's you've gotten into: Miami of Ohio, Agnes Scott, Dickinson, Kenyon (WL), Tulane (WL)
Attending Open House April 11/12th: 11

Accepted: Yes!
Location/gender: NJ/F
SAT's: 1510 (M790 V720)
SAT's II: Writing 790, Lit 800, Bio 650
AP's/Type of Classes: I took a total of 4 APs in high school
School Rankings/out of: No idea, my school didn't do rankings
GPA: Weighted, barely a 3.0

Essay: Good, but odd
Counselor's rec: Good I'm sure
Teacher's Rec: Very good
Interview: It went well, the girl who interviewed me was really cool
Any Supp. Materials: Photography/Art slides
EC's Activities/ Involvement: Crew (rowing), yearbook photo editor, various community service (a lot of it arts related, habitat for humanity as well), photography, environmental club, had a job for a year
strengths/weakness: my GPA is pretty much ****. my grades started sliding junior year and by senior year they were terrible (I was still taking accelerated/APs however, god knows why) but i took a PG year at a boarding school and got basically straight As, took more APs etc. Even after that my GPA is just skimming the 3.0 mark.
what's your hook? Basically my SATs saved my ass. They were strong and my writing and english SAT IIs evern stronger. The fact that I took a PG year and proved what I was capable of. Oh and crew... Trin womans crew is really strong (ranked #1 in division III i think), they have a new boathouse... crew is just kind of a big deal there. And I had really strong ERG scores, 2 years experience and I communicated with the coach during the admissions process.

Opinion of Trinity: I'm going there! I fell in love with it when I visited it. The campus is beautiful, loved the gothic buildings and everyone there was so warm and friendly. It got to the point where my parents and I were joking about it... seriously everyone we met was great. It’s stong academically, has some cool academic programs etc. etc. but you can kind of find out all that from guides.
Other school's you've gotten into: colgate, hampshire, skidmore, loyola, hws, rutgers. i got rejected from colby and princeton (no surprise w/ princeotn though haha).
Attending Open House April 11/12th: wasn't in the country
