Just wondering what the point of that was........ Does it have anything to do with admissions?

I think it cuts your fee by sending in the early part I. It tells the college you are interested early, so you wont have to pay as much.

Does part I count as the number of people applying to USC? Can USC say that had X amount applicants even if the person doesn't follow through on part 2? Just wondering.

yea! actuallly what happens if you send in part I but not part II? but you do waste your application fee cos you pay earlier...i didnt' do part I..didn't see the point..on part II rite now

Better question: Did anyone oos receive these so-called bar code stickers that are supposed to be attached to all correspondence/partII/transcripts/etc??? D sent part I in weeks ago, got e-mail confirm; never got anything else

USC tracks applicants carefully (ie including campus visits, school rep visits, calls to admissions). It's a way for them to get students "hooked" early as well. Once you submit Part I, you will receive lots of great mail from them and we can hope that it shows adcom that you are really interested.

i emailed USC for my USC ID # and they sent it to me two days later..

USC has been one of the best colleges to talk to when you have questions or need help. My friend had a problem and I told her to call. She finally called and commented to me about how great they were helping her - which is what I told her.
