What was your most shocking acceptance or rejection??

Which admission decision (either acceptance or rejection), shocked you the most?

...dont forget to include your stats so we can understand why it was shocking...or just explain it! haha :D

Most Shocking Rejection: Duke.

Why is this shocking? I ended up getting into HYPSM as well as 5 other Ivy's + similar schools like Johns Hopkins, Vandy, and Tufts...and yet no such luck at Duke. Oh well...med school, I guess? :)

Most Shocking Acceptance: MIT.
Why: It was just a blatant crap shoot for me, lol.

I had many reach schools so my rejections were not very "shocking". However, being waitlisted at Michigan and Vanderbilt was somewhat of a surprise to me. I thought I had a decent chance. I got into USC and Emory, which are sorta similar I guess. Although I don't think I should generalize "just because I got into emory, I can get into vanderbilt."

I guess I was also shocked that I got into USC very early. I turned in my application on the last day, mailed the stuff in late, and was accepted in early march or late feb.

My Shocking Acceptance: I Got The Danforth Scholarship At Wash U
My Shocking Waitlist: Johns Hopkins...i Got Into Duke Which Is Much Harder To Get Into Than Johns Hopkins...maybe It Was B/c I Applied To Johns Hopkins's Only Good Major...bme....but On Most Sides...duke>>>jhu.

I don't think Duke is that much harder to get into than Hopkins, especially if you apply BME. Heck, even the school of engineering.
And besides, I didn't get into Johns Hopkins BME either, but they still said I was accepted in the engineering school. It is pretty competitive regardless.

I got rejected from TCNJ, the college of new jersey. i got into yale, amherst, swarthmore, tufts, williams, ect. my guidance counselor laughed.
