Now that the app deadline has passed...let's see what everyone put for this short take :).

5) If you were choosing students to form a Yale class, what question would you ask here that we have not?

I put: Many times in the past, seemingly unimportant events have ended up changing the course of history. Tell us how taking a bite into an apple could change the course of history.

Those questions you guys wrote remind me of UChicago- or Brown-type questions! XD

Mine wasn’t as creative but I think reflects my personality/interests and fits in with the rest of my app, so I hope it’s okay: What work of fiction has most deeply touched you and why?

We often talk of changing society, and so forget to appreciate its positive aspects. What do you love about the world today and why?

In my defense, in the answer to the previous question I basically said that I was cynical about everything, so I felt the need for something saccharine to balance it.

“You have 48 hours until the deadline of a research paper, which you had been assigned two weeks ago but did not start due to excruciating circumstances. What do you do?”

Mine’s pretty generic. ‘There are over 1.2 billion teenagers in this world. Give us a quirky fact about you that sets you apart from this crowd.’

“What is your opportunity cost of going to Yale?” I think this is a great question. I mean, there are opportunity costs… Yale would not be offended.

Yoda - it’s funny you asked that, because last year, I had to write a research paper at midnight the night before it was due. It was for high school, though, so not long, but still a lot.
