What was your question?

Now that the app deadline has passed...let's see what everyone put for this short take :).

5) If you were choosing students to form a Yale class, what question would you ask here that we have not?

I put: Many times in the past, seemingly unimportant events have ended up changing the course of history. Tell us how taking a bite into an apple could change the course of history.

What'd you guys put?

What is your opportunity cost of attending Yale?

Those questions you guys wrote remind me of UChicago- or Brown-type questions! XD

Mine wasn’t as creative but I think reflects my personality/interests and fits in with the rest of my app, so I hope it’s okay: What work of fiction has most deeply touched you and why?

@motion: Answering that in twenty five words would be challenging, to be sure.

I put some generic question.

I was tempted to put, “Are you applying to Harvard?”

Mine is hilariously awful:

We often talk of changing society, and so forget to appreciate its positive aspects. What do you love about the world today and why?

In my defense, in the answer to the previous question I basically said that I was cynical about everything, so I felt the need for something saccharine to balance it.

“You have 48 hours until the deadline of a research paper, which you had been assigned two weeks ago but did not start due to excruciating circumstances. What do you do?”

@Microdog - That’d be so funny hehehehe

I put:

“What is one thing you would do if you knew others could not judge you for it?”

@yoda: Excruciating circumstances? I didn’t know Yale was torture.

Mine: How would you like to be eulogized?

With all its comic intent, “Are you applying to Harvard?” would actually entertain the admissions officers and might end up working for you…

Mine’s pretty generic. ‘There are over 1.2 billion teenagers in this world. Give us a quirky fact about you that sets you apart from this crowd.’

OMG lol i assume your ■■■■■■■■. that’s liek a slap in the face to yale! haha

What about you would make you less attractive to Yale?

“Tell me what makes this class for you.”

Actually I just put something like “What’s your biggest dream” or something LOL

Tristan, I love yours.

I put “What is your dream Scrabble word?” I had it as “Who are your heroes?” for a while, but I thought that was too generic.

“Are you applying to Harvard?” ------hahahahahhaha that is so risky and wrong

“What is your opportunity cost of going to Yale?” I think this is a great question. I mean, there are opportunity costs… Yale would not be offended.

Yoda - it’s funny you asked that, because last year, I had to write a research paper at midnight the night before it was due. It was for high school, though, so not long, but still a lot.

“If you could solve or answer any one problem or question in the world, historical or modern, what would it be?”
