I put:

Name one historical figure, alive or dead, that you would like to room with at Yale

Thanks, Millancad I like yours too! Very original :P

One of the only reasons why I didn’t use that question was because the rest of my application would entertain the admissions officers enough. Needed some seriousness in it :P

“Ralph Waldo Emerson once said that he would “write on the lintels of the door-post, ‘Whim.’” What is written above your door?”
I don’t think the apostrophe/quote marks punctuation is right…

Mine was:

“If you could choose one sentence to broadcast to the world, which everyone will hear and understand without fail, what would it be?”

I really like all these questions, you guys! I didn’t really know they were supposed to be like that though. lol Because all of Yale’s real questions were really standard/traditional and not particularly thought-provoking, so did I probably made a mistake by following suit and making my question fairly standard?

Here’s my question:

“How do you start your morning (or whenever you believe the day begins)?”

I supppose mine is too starndard as well?

Who is John Galt?

^^ was that your question, or A question? because it’s pretty awesome if it’s the one you submitted.

it was and i got in

peachsnapple! So amazing Haha I wrote about Atlas Shrugged for my Brown essay.

LOL peachsnapple!! Best question everr :D

I put “Which historical figure do you admire the most and why?”

sigh super generic. I WANTED to put “What would you sculpt out of a large block of cheese” but was dissuaded by more conservative friends ^^

Mine:

How specifically do you plan on contributing to Yale’s vibrant academic and social environment?

fuzzyfirebunny- i really like your cheese one! lol but you got in already so it doesn’t matter haha

“What does the color yellow make you feel?”
that was mine

@peachsnapple, that’s really great. I love the really specific questions on this thread. Mine was:
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I think I had the syntax better but that was the cheesy gist of it.

@peachsnapple: Words cannot describe how awesome I found your question.
@rocket6louise: Sounds like a psychiatrist. ;)

Omg! Take out “1.2 billion teenagers … world” and change “this crowd” to “everyone else,” and it’s verbatim of my answer. :(

However, I don’t know why, but I threw in my answer. Lol.

I said: if you could have dinner with five people, dead or alive, who would they be and why

Because Yale is a major reach I just had fun with the entire application.
My question: Are you applying to Harvard?

I don’t know if it was a good idea to ask or if tons of people used it but I thought, what the heck?
