Anyone ere have experience with rush? What was it like?
For fraternities or sororities? I rushed (fraternities) for a little as a freshman because some of my friends were, but in the end stopped because I couldn’t get my shit together and am choosing to rush as a sophomore.
If you don’t know anyone and actually commit to the process (going to many houses, going out everyday), it is very time consuming. It lasts the entire semester and can get kind of tiring/overwhelming if your schedule is a lot of work, you don’t have good time management skills (ie procrastinating), you want a high GPA, etc. Otherwise it’s a pretty laid back process because it’s informal. You have time to meet many people and decide what places you’d like to continue rushing at and so on.
From what I have heard from my friends in sororities, it’s a lot more intense for girls because they have formal rush. You have to go to the houses for a week or something and they basically question you or something like that. Only good thing I guess is that it’s only a week, so it doesn’t really affect your school stuff so it’s easier to commit to
