“How can a three-pound mass of jelly that you can hold in your palm imagine angels, contemplate the meaning of infinity, and even question its own place in the cosmos?”
― V.S. Ramachandran, The Tell-Tale Brain: Unlocking the Mystery of Human Nature

“Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can’t see.” - The Polar Express (movie) <3 This quote inspires me so much! ^_^

I came so close to using “Get busy living, or get busy dying.” as mine. But I ended up choosing: “Above all, don’t lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.” (From Brothers Karamazov) It was hard for me to choose because my actual favorite quote isn’t from a book or a movie: “Read books. Care about things. Get excited. Try not to be too down on yourself. Enjoy the ever present game of knowing.” - Hank Green

For the essay
“You’re cultural supremacists to the core. You’ll perform your Questionable Activities to help out the poor little piggies, but there isn’t a chance in the world you’ll notice when they have something to teach you.” (Speaker for the Dead, Orson Scott Card)

And for the Favorite Movie/book line
“Ah, music,” he said, wiping his eyes. “A magic far beyond all we do here!” Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Hopefully they liked these and will be sending a congratulations email tomorrow night.
