I made up a book and talked about the character accumalating a large amount of money.

I couldn't think of Andrew Carnigie's name until I closed the book.

I made up a book and talked about the character accumalating a large amount of money.

I had the fame one.

I wrote about a UPenn study, Lindsay Lohan, and Candide. haha

Mine was about individuals copying each other and it its good for society.

Mine:

John F. Kennedy

The Beatles (John Lennon)

Julius Caesar

Kaznack; to what topic? seems there were several...

If it's okay now...the fame/happiness one.

Can we make a list of the prompts?

Not conforming to society

I think there's usually 4

I had whether fame brought happiness, and I used The Great Gatsby, a fake quote from Shirley Temple, and modern tabloids.

Fame:
Puritans in early colonial America
Main character from Invisible Man

Only 2 examples but entire 2 pages; is that okay?

I had fame, and I used Great Gatsby about how he wasn't happy with his fame, and also To Kill a mockingbird about how Boo Radley was content with not being famous or something. Seems liek a bad example now.

used Galileo and Ronald Reagan(his economic strategy)

Heh, I wrote two pages and used these two examples:

1) Made up something about fame and unhappiness in "The Red Badge of Courage." (It was pretty well weaved).

2) Made up something about how Robin Williams having a interview on MTV and telling people how he sometimes hated fame and wanted privacy for happiness or something.

Lol, cheers! :)

I talked about Antony from Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra, and in the process referenced Plutarch's Lives, and Jung's theory of archetypes :]

Is the fact that I only used one very well-developed example going to be detrimental? (I also only wrote a page and a half, but I took a while to write it because I selected the words that I used very carefully)

I used Marquis De Sade/120 Days of Sodom, Dostoevsky/Raskolnikov, and Ernest Hemingway....

Fame does not lead to happiness
1. Great Gatsby
2. Invisible Man...Ralph Ellison

I had fame. I made up a book about how a man tries to become famous, but ends up a drug addict. Then I talked about Anne Boleyn and how her fame ultimately caused her death. And then I made up a personal ex. about a friend who after becoming a well known musician in my city loses all his friends because of his excessive pride.

My question was about the conforming w/ society.
I used Lord of the Flies and 1960s American CounterRevolution

my essay started out neat and got really messy towards the end.. haha

Macbeth- needed to kill to stay famous
King Lear- daughter's became jealous of his fame
Personal example- how peers became overly critical once i won an election

Are these on topic?

Celebrity Rehab (the TV show), Heath Ledger's death, and Greta Garbo (or as I spelled it, "Garboe". She was a famous French actress who left society and became a hermit).
