I can't remember any of the other ones. Sorry if I forgot any.

I honestly don't think Princeton cares that much about the favorites section. I can't remember what I put for most of them, but I put CNN for favorite news source, too.

Song: 3rd movement of Winter in "The Four Seasons" by Vivaldi (wasn't sure about putting that one because I didn't want to sound presumptuous, but I'm a violin player and it really is my favorite song so I decided to put it).

Keepsake: All of my old journals and my current journal

News source: The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (I figured the adcoms would mostly be pretty liberal and wouldn't mind)

(EDIT--Favorite source of inspiration: I can't remember at all what I said.)

I tried to sound original, but ended up just being myself. I guess that's all they really want. I think if people are honest about their favorites, it gives an accurate portrayal of the person. I guess from my favorites--and maybe looking a little further into my application--one might be able to tell that I play the violin and love it, I speak Mandarin and enjoy Chinese cinema, I dance and love it, I am a thinker (or whatever my journals say about me), I know what's going on the world, and I enjoy a good laugh.

But how do they know if people are really being honest? They can't possibly know, so I don't think they put any weight on these favorites. I think it's just helps them see the applicant more as a person than just another paper-crammed folder.

Hallelujah -- not just from Shrek. They played it on the OC last season a couple times. :) AND OMG!!! I can't believe you know about the egg song! I love that thing!
