3.9, 28 ACT (1260 SAT), they don't look at ec's very much except for one question on the app which asks you if you held a job that was related to your major.

It's all numbers...

For Cal Poly, I would say its more important to do really good on your SAT or ACT and don't worry about getting a 4.0. Just take hard honors and ap classes and shoot for 3.7 range. Admissions is completely objective so it really depends on how many people apply for your same major.

2.3.9 ish, 1220 sat:28 act, Held a job fixing and building computers(applied into computer engineering).
3.nada

decent sat/act, good gpa 3.8 or above, get a job or internship related to your major, hard course load, lots fo ap's and honors.

4.0 (CSU weighted), 3.7 unweighted, 1480 SAT, 2 years employment as a computer technician (applied into computer engineering), varsity lacrosse

from NY? Don't know if that helped, think GPA+SAT alone would have done it

ditto what others said - its all stats compared to others in your major

2005

4.2 CSU gpa, 1430 SAT

They don't ask for EC's or anything.

If you have at least a 4.0 gpa and about a 1300 SAT score, you will probably get into any major your choose.

If you are in the 3.3 to 3.6 range with the 1000-1100 SAT range, you probably wont get into engineering or architecture but have a good chance in any other major.

If you are less than that, you will still likely get in if you pick agriculture or something else that is less academically rigorous.

Many people with high SAT's and GPA's get rejected b/c they apply for engineering and many people with low SAT's and GPA's get admitted because they picked a major that is easier to get into.

I would think so.. My math scores were good, and my verbal was ok.. I think you have a very good shot... A math score above 700 is very respectable..

"If you are in the 3.3 to 3.6 range with the 1000-1100 SAT range, you probably wont get into engineering or architecture but have a good chance in any other major."

Actually not true. Liberal arts is very difficult to get into, if not as prestigious as the other fields. Check out the freshman profile @ calpoly.edu.

i really wanna go to cal poly slo, and i have wanted to for about 2years now and ive known ive wanted to be an architect since 5th grade. but i dont have the most amazing grades, so if i do get in ill be looking at min. i normally get A's And B's just i really screwed up last semester and got only 2 A's, and then 4 C's.
but as of now i have straight A's idk if i can keep it up until senior year but im gonna sure as hell try.
but i just had two questions.
whats lowest GPA and SAT score to get in?
and what are classes needed to get in, like how many years or foriegn language and stuff will i need?
Thanks!
And congratz on you guys that made it in, hope your having fun

Fall 2004 entering Graphic Design class was a total of 13 first time freshman. The bulk of the class was transfer students. Portfolio based entrance. Yeah, Liberal Arts is really easy to get into... NOT!

Architecture is also portfolio required as far as I know. Start working on that, as well as grades. Transfers happen in ARCH also, so never give up
