If Cornell is the school for you, don't forget to reveal your personality in your application; I know it isn't easy because applications are mundane and structured, but you have to throw some of your personality into your application. Cornell is the type of school that certainly expects high standards from its admitted applicants, but at the same time, an applicant who shows personality and commitment to a particular interest will be an asset to the Cornell community.

Good luck to you :)

nerd camp is not to be mocked; its off the chain!

I was engineering early decision class of 07. It's been so long, I'm probably not remembering everything. But here goes what I do remember: my SAT was 1420 (800 on math), my SAT 2 scores were 800 math 2C, 760 physics, 690 writing. My unweighted GPA was about 3.7 at a very good public school, they did not weight. I was a 3-season varsity athlete for 3 years, and a captain of the crew team senior year, and we won a bunch of regional and state awards for our crew team, plus I did summer baseball league for a few years. I was a member of a few of the nerd clubs and even held executive positions in a few of them. I was a member of national honor society, I volunteered a decent amount (and on my applications, I definitely stretched the truth about how much I did), had 2 or 3 jobs during high school (which I also recall stretching the truth about). I was also involved in my synagogue and my Jewish Youth group (USY). I was also involved in a few math contests, like the AIME, and I had one state gold medal for a science competition. I'm surprised I remember all that. There are probably a few things I forgot, but I think I hit all the high points. I hope this helped. Good luck with Cornell.

I forgot!!! I also had a really crazy heavy dose of nerd camp (CTY). I was there for like 5 years. It was totally kickin.
