118 on the iBT. 29 for speaking and writing and 30 for listening and reading. i don't think it really matters as long as you have at least 90. colelges cant ell that you know English from your sats

115 Ibt
Speakin 28 Rest of them 29.
Get it past the 100 mark and noone cares if its a 101 or a 119.

116 iBT...R29/L28/S29/W30

no no actually i think if u get between 90-100 it'll be the same
100-110 would be the same

but it's a different case when u get above 110... it really proves something...

yea we're probably making other ppl nervous with these scores, but ppl gotta keep in mind that CC has some of the best applicants in the world, so if u don't have such a high score, no worries really!

Personally, i think 90+ is fine, it's just that the higher the better. That's all.

damn how can u have screwed up if have got 110+?!
I got 110: 28 R, 27 W, 27 L, 28 S

and i expected an 80-90 after the test. don't over estimate the test. it's nothing even close to the SAT

how do u prepare for toefl? best prep books?

CAmbridge only. I gave 4 prac tests from Cambridge.

I saw the type of questions a day before my test. I didn't know I would need paper, so that helped.

I doubt the score matters as long as you get over 90. I mean if two candidates have similar SAT scores but one has a 95 in TOEFL and the other one has 115, the adcom will look at the essays, eca's and recs not the TOEFL scores.

i see.. has any one tried Barrons or Kaplans review books?

@ zainuu........I really dont know because I did only 4 prac tests from CAmbridge and did not consult other books. What I heard from my friends is that Barrons makes you familiar to the actual test day structure ( with the additional sections; the experimental ones) but the questions are not so good. As far as Kaplan is concerned, I know its good. You can go for it.

I hate TOEFL.

Each score report costs almost twice as much as a much-more-relevant SAT score report. And have you seen the prices of the official TOEFL practice tests? SCAM.

yeah, it is sooooo expensive. i didn't really practice. i only took that free practice test they offer when you register
