So where should I apply ladies & gentlemen? My counsellor seems to think I should apply to Carnegie Mellon or NYU as a safety but where else?

Thank you!

BTW,

My Recs + Essays are incredibly unique & glowing.

Depends what you want to study, you have a good chance at any ivy. Do you want to go to a state school or private? UVA, UNC, UMich, UCB, and so on could be options if you want state schools. Private outside of the ivies…MIT, CalTech, JHU, ND…

My intended major is sociology - which is truly my passion. Given my credentials in sociology - I am a published sociologist, and a teaching assistant/researcher at Columbia University - I think this major should aid my chances. Should it not?

Thanks for the advice Euler - I will definitely apply to JHU (sociology/poli sci) and possibly MIT - but my heart is at Stanford (where i applied early).

If you are thinking of sociology or polisci consider georgetown as well
