What will be package look like if I am declined from the program?

So I couldn’t fit my whole question in the title and I had a hard time trying to word it correctly. I want to know what my package will look like if I rejected from the program but accepted into the school. I know I was rejected from MT because my major of interest changed. I was told if I am rejected from the program, but accepted into the school then I won’t receive a formal rejection letter, just a letter saying I was accepted into the colleges exploratory program. (that is my back-up) is that true?

By package do you mean aid package? You might find more answers to that question in the general Ithaca thread that is not major specific. Go back a few layers in CC and you can find a wealth of information.

If your major of interest still mentions theatre in some form, I believe it means you are still under consideration for one of the theatre major options. If not, Ithaca is considering you for whatever is listed. I’m basing this on what I’ve read in earlier posts… I’m certainly not an expert.

Ah! I have no idea why I kept putting package! I obviously need some sleep, SO many typos in this post. I meant decision letter.

^^^Then I hope your decision letter says CONGRATULATIONS!!! in all caps with at least 4 exclamation points.

Okay, I’m no expert either but here’s what happened in our case. She was accepted into her back-up major which obviously means rejected from MT and learned about this thru the status change online. She received a congratulations letter and big envelope full of welcome materials and a big scholarship offer. I don’t remember the numbers because, honestly, at that point it was irrelevant as she had moved on to other schools but it was one of the larger ones. Her academics were sky-high for Ithaca. I do not recall ever getting a formal rejection from the MT program.

Rejections…thin letter for sure.
