I am accepted into UCB. I am thinking to drop a class from a local college. I am wondering if this will get me rescinded from UCB. Which is better, Get a C or drop a class?

I am in the same situation...the class I am taking isn't even UC transferable. Will it matter if I drop it?

It might affect things, but probably not. Call the office of admissions as soon as you can.

Hi, DRab,
Thanks for your reply. I called the office of admissions and they told me to write them. But they did not answer my question if the dropping class would get me rescinded.

Boo. That's not cool. I guess they have to take it up in committee or something, as in, everything is a special case. It would probably be good for you to take it pass not pass, just to be safe, if you can. It might benefit you later in some way to finish the class, and dropping it probably won't cause your admissions to be rescinded, but there is some possiblity that it might.

DRab,
Thanks again. If a student at Cal drops a class with a W grade, how this affect the student's GPA?

It does not. It just appears on the transcript as a "W" as far as I've heard.
