Received a presidential scholarship from a state university. The requirements for it were a 3.8 GPA, which I barely met. I’m not sure if it will get downgraded or not if I were to finished with like a B average overall my senior year (it’s basically way lower than a 3.8 overall). I don’t know if it factors in or not, but I have a very high level or rigor in my classes and of course when it combines with senioritis my grades do not look very stellar… Should I be worried?
not sure if this helps or not… it’s Temple University, and statistically 42% of its students get scholarships, ACT score requirement was 32, I got a 33. I welcome all opinions on this.
My classes are ridiculously difficult this year because I thought I might as well since it’s senior year, but I basically regret everything because now I’m not sure if I need to maintain my usual grades! Not sure if I can retain the 3.8 GPA requirement for the scholarship even if I did keep on trying.
Speak to your guidance counselor and/or email the regional rep explaining your situation, and showing why your grades may falter slightly
Maybe it is GPA through 7 semesters only?
My daughter’s scholarship letter said very clearly that if her GPA went up, she could get more money but if it went down, she could fall into a lower category. I sweated it out. She did not get more, but didn’t lose any either. It was also clear they didn’t round, and only used the unweighted gpa.
Well…your best bet is to maintain your GPA to the appropriate level. Don’t let senioritis get the best if you.
You will likely have a minimum GPA to maintain this scholarship once you get to Temple. May as well get used to working to maintain grades now.
thanks for the input. i guess ill keep grinding… ugh but i wish i had taken some easier courses it was so unnecessary looking back right now
