What will the med.sch adcoms think?High gpa, good Mcat but spent 2 yrs in cc?

Dear all,

I have scanned through almost all the threads in this forum but there arent that many talking about transferred students from cc and their chances of getting into med. school.

I just wonder does it really matter to the med adcom that an applicant with good gpa after transfer, very promising MCAT score spent his/her first two years in a cc. Will this make it less appealing to the med. adcoms regarding to the admission to med school?

Does anyone here know anybody who was from cc, transferred to a 4 years uni, then successfully get into a medical school, provided that the gpa after transfer and the MCAT is good enough?

I am going to attend college in fall and plan to transfer to UCLA, get my biology BS degree then get into medical school. I didnt directly get into a 4 years uni as I am an American chinese who studied in hk and didnt apply as international student. Is studying in a cc during the first two years of undergrad that great of a bumper in applying to grad school?

Is there no light for CC students getting to med. school? Pls spare some time out and offer words of wisdom to me. I would be grateful for all your opinions!!!!! Thanks in advance =)

Doesn't really matter very much at all. Perhaps it might make it a little less appealing, but really, it's not that big of a factor.

Yes, I know several people who went to a CC, transferred to a 4-year school, then got into med-school. And yes, their GPA's and MCAT's were solid.
