Inspired by someone’s post, may as well make this a topic!

Including Greek, political stuff, science clubs, yadda yadda, whatcha gonna be doin’?

At the moment, I’m pretty sure I’m going to be doing ultimate frisbee, fencing, theatre, maybe a martial art, and maybe the Brown Daily Harold or lit mag. As well, I’ll probably join at least one of the many random special interest/recreation clubs (poker club!!, outing club). There may be a random political organization thrown in there, too. As well, I plan to go jogging (with running club, maybe) and work out daily.

I’ve never fenced, never taken a martial art lesson, and my only acting experience is my 5th grade Christmas play, but I’m really excited to try them. I just hope, since I’ll be such an amateur, that the theatre gurus will give me a chance as an actor (honestly, I have no idea if I’ll be good or not, but I’m looking forward to giving it a go).

1) BDH, The Independent, The Brown Jug or any publication that will take my writing
2) Brown Radio
3) Intramural Sports (soccer, cross country, football, track)
4) Student Government
5) Improv
6) Music (a capella, playing in a band, musical theater)
7) Math Team/Science team

Hopefully BDH
Maybe some kind of theatre
Maybe a political group if I can find one that doesn't annoy me
Or heck, just anything. I would love to try rugby, but since I haven't worked out in about two years, I don't think that's going to happen.

I want to take cello lessons, be in the French Club, Celtic Cultural Organization, and intramurals. I really want to ensure that I do not overextend myself. Maybe something fun, like a cappella, as well. I guess anything that tickle's my fancy. There will be so much to do! It's great!

Dead White Men: A Festival of Classics...looks interesting lol

Well it's a daily paper, and not very long, so I'm guessing not everyone writes every day and people generally go for a beat and cover it. Plus, there are editors and artist and photographers. Takes a lot of people to staff a paper. Particularly a daily one. Not that I know anything about it. That's just me guessing.

After perusing the list of student organizations, I remembered something: Whatever happened to the Seinfeld Club (or whatever is was called)? I was very amused to hear of it during my tour, but now it is not there. Does anyone know?

I don't know what I want to do, but I don't think I want to do what I did in high school. But I plan to judge debate, and possibly do a bit of coaching (hopefully not a real obligation though, because that's really time consuming). I'm hoping I'll figure something out when I get there. I'd really like to join a pinnochle club...I play a lot with my family, I think I'll miss it when I'm at Brown.

there's so much to choose from! though most likely...

-Brown EMS (emergency medical services, aka the campus first aid squad)
-theater
-choir/a capella
-Hillel
-Brown Democrats
-other political groups
-radio, maybe?

i also want to get a job, so i can earn spending money. i hope there's enough time to do everything!

If I have the opportunity to go to Brown, I am definitely going to be very involved in mock trial and probably a publication of some sort, though probably not the BDH. No matter what though, I'm hoping to get some waves in Newport.
