What will you do if your candidate doesn't win?

"No one loves an unborn child."

Brace yourself, feuler. You might have stirred up some arguments on that one.

You know, maybe abortion wouldn't be that bad if there weren't alternatives. But the truth is, there are TONS of alternatives. Abstinence, condoms, birth controls pills, spermicides, even adoption.

"Why should it have to suffer because of some woman who can't control her self, especially when there are other contraceptives available."

What!?! It's not just the woman's fault. What about the man that can't control himself? And what if they are both using contraceptives, and she still gets pregnant?

"Regarding whether abortion is murder... maybe it is, maybe not. Why does it matter though? Think about it. Why is murder illegal? At least as I see it, the fact that someone dies doesn't matter. We all die. After you're dead, you don't care. The problem with murder is the pain it puts loved ones through. No one loves an unborn child."

I see what you're saying and I think I agree with it. The way that I see it it is murder is rooted in the religious notion of sin. Which means that no matter how you want to get around it, legalities have ties to religion.

vancat i know what abortion is, I just rather the woman take care of her child the way she wants to.

Seriously, who cares. Bush or Kerry, it's all the same. Moral discussions are pointless, people should just do what "feels" good.

If they outlaw abortion, how 'bout all the pregant women drop off their unwanted kids at the white house for Bush to take care of?

Well said, RaboKarabekian. Pro-lifers (or anti-choice people as I like to call them) that want to ban abortion completely should be willing to take in all the unwanted kids if they want to continue being anti-abortion. Otherwise, I say abortion is none of their business, but instead an issue between the mother and the father of the unborn child.

There are more than enough people willing to adopt unwanted children.

You can only murder something that is "alive". By definition, for something to be biologically alive, it has to be able to be independent of other organisms. The basis of the pro-life argument is that a fetus is a life. however, a fetus can only survive on its own after many months of development. I do not have a problem with abortion in the early months. but IMO, abortion should be performed in the 3rd trimester only if there is danger to the woman or the dr. reccomends it.

I agree with you. In my opinion, life begins when cells differeniate. Ideally, it would be great if abortions were not preformed. But in reality, this is not possible. So I can support abortion if they are absolutely necessary and preformed in the first month of pregnancy.
